Position Summary

BGSL is seeking qualified candidates to support its financial inclusion agenda through the delivery of financial literacy programs to microfinance clients. The role involves facilitating training sessions at the branch level and contributing to the expansion of the program across selected regions.

Duty Locations

  • Central Region: Abura Dunkwah
  • Greater Accra Region: Kasoa–Ofaakor and Ablekuma

Role Purpose

The primary objective of this position is to provide practical financial education to microfinance group clients while supporting the scale-up and effectiveness of BRAC’s financial literacy initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Facilitate financial literacy training sessions for microfinance (MF) groups at the community and branch levels
  • Support client mobilization efforts to ensure strong participation in training activities
  • Accurately record and update attendance data for all training participants
  • Develop and maintain structured session plans in line with approved training guidelines
  • Compile and submit monthly attendance and participation reports for all MF groups
  • Conduct follow-up engagements with trained clients to provide guidance on applying acquired financial knowledge
  • Uphold service quality standards across all program activities
  • Act as a support resource to assist participants in achieving personal and household financial goals
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of training programs and propose areas for improvement
  • Participate in internal capacity-building and professional development programs organized by BRAC
  • Ensure proper care and maintenance of all BRAC-owned training tools and materials

Safeguarding Responsibilities

  • Promote and embed a strong safeguarding culture throughout program implementation
  • Provide guidance and support on safeguarding issues to ensure a safe and respectful working environment
  • Ensure team members receive appropriate safeguarding training and access to necessary resources
  • Adhere strictly to safeguarding reporting procedures and encourage compliance among colleagues

Required Qualifications and Experience

Educational Background:

  • HND or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline

Professional Experience:

  • Familiarity with microfinance operations in Ghana
  • Previous experience in training, education, finance, social work, or community/youth development
  • Basic knowledge of adult learning methodologies
  • One to two years of relevant work experience

Core Skills and Competencies

  • Strong communication and presentation abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Genuine interest in financial education and community development
  • High attention to detail and openness to learning new techniques to improve service delivery
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment
