Role Overview

GWO SEVO is seeking a skilled Mobile Application Developer to design, build, and maintain high-performance mobile applications that power the company’s digital products and platforms. The role demands strong hands-on expertise in Android, iOS, or cross-platform mobile development, with a focus on creating secure, intuitive, and user-focused mobile experiences.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with product managers, UI/UX designers, and backend engineers to deliver scalable mobile solutions that align with business goals. This position reports to the Head of IT Operations & Projects.

Key Responsibilities

Mobile Application Development

• Design, develop, test, and deploy mobile applications for Android and/or iOS platforms
• Build cross-platform applications using frameworks such as Flutter, React Native, or Kotlin Multiplatform (where applicable)
• Integrate mobile applications with backend systems using RESTful APIs, WebSockets, and cloud services
• Apply clean architecture principles and modular coding practices to ensure performance, scalability, and maintainability

UI/UX Implementation

• Convert UI/UX designs, wireframes, and prototypes into fully functional mobile interfaces
• Ensure a consistent and intuitive user experience across various devices, screen sizes, and operating systems
• Optimize applications for speed, responsiveness, usability, and accessibility

Testing, Quality Assurance & Deployment

• Conduct unit, integration, and regression testing for mobile applications
• Diagnose and resolve bugs, crashes, and performance bottlenecks
• Manage application deployment and updates on Google Play Store and Apple App Store, ensuring compliance with store guidelines

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Work closely with backend, frontend, and product teams to ensure seamless system integration
• Participate in agile development processes, including stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
• Stay informed on emerging mobile technologies, tools, and industry best practices
• Provide technical recommendations to enhance mobile product strategy and delivery

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, ICT, or a related field
• 2–4+ years of practical experience in mobile application development

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in one or more of the following:
  • Android Development: Kotlin, Java
  • iOS Development: Swift, Objective-C
  • Cross-Platform Development: Flutter, React Native
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and mobile data caching strategies
• Experience with mobile databases such as SQLite, Room, Realm, or Firebase
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for mobile apps (e.g., Fastlane, GitHub Actions)
• Proven experience publishing and maintaining applications on mobile app stores

Core Competencies

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to write clean, scalable, and maintainable code
• Solid understanding of mobile UI/UX best practices
• Proficiency with version control systems such as Git
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in teams
