The Radboud Scholarship Programme for the 2026–2027 academic year offers a prestigious, merit-based award to outstanding international students, significantly easing the financial burden of studying at one of Europe’s top universities.
Scholarship Benefits
Selected recipients receive a substantial financial package, including:
- Reduced Tuition: Non-EEA students pay only €2,695 for the academic year.
- Visa and Insurance Coverage: Costs for Dutch student visa, residence permit, and comprehensive health and liability insurance via Aon Student Insurance are included.
Note: Living expenses such as housing, meals, and personal costs are not covered. Students must budget for these separately.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet all of the following conditions:
- Non-EU/EEA citizenship.
- No prior degrees from or enrollment in Dutch higher education.
- Admission to a qualifying English-taught Master’s programme at Radboud University starting 1 September 2026.
- Fulfil all English proficiency requirements for the chosen programme.
- Eligible for a Dutch student visa and residence permit.
- Commitment to full-time study throughout the programme.
Important: Most English-taught Master’s programmes are eligible, except Erasmus Mundus or joint-degree programmes. Verify eligibility for your programme in advance.

Radboud University will award up to 33 scholarships across multiple faculties:

- Faculty of Social Sciences: 8
- Nijmegen School of Management: 6
- Faculty of Arts: 4
- Faculty of Law: 4
- Faculty of Philosophy, Theology & Religious Studies: 3
Selection Process
The scholarship selection is highly competitive, based on academic excellence and personal merit. Key evaluation criteria include:
- Academic Excellence: Grades, relevant publications, and previous university reputation.
- Motivation & Ambition: Quality of motivation letter, professional experience, internships, and extracurricular achievements.
- References: Two strong letters of recommendation, ideally academic.
Applicants must apply simultaneously for both the Master’s programme and the scholarship via Radboud University’s OSIRIS Application System.
Application Deadlines
- 31 January 2026 (23:59 CET): Deadline to submit initial OSIRIS application.
- 14 February 2026 (23:59 CET): Final deadline for fully complete applications, including verified documents and proof of English proficiency. Incomplete submissions are not considered.
- Before mid-April 2026: Scholarship decisions are communicated to applicants.
