The Role

Hilton is seeking a highly capable and forward-thinking Assistant Chief Engineer to support and oversee all engineering and maintenance functions within the hotel. This leadership role is essential to ensuring that hotel facilities operate efficiently, safely, and without disruption. You will supervise daily maintenance activities, support renovation projects, and lead emergency preparedness and energy-saving initiatives. The role suits a technically skilled professional who is hands-on, safety-focused, and results-driven.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the hotel’s infrastructure to the highest standards. Your duties will include:

  • Taking overall responsibility for engineering and maintenance operations across the property.
  • Carrying out routine preventive maintenance and promptly identifying and fixing equipment faults.
  • Ensuring lift emergency release procedures and all life-safety systems are properly maintained and functional.
  • Building effective working relationships with hotel departments, suppliers, and external contractors.
  • Inspecting fixtures, fittings, and facilities, and addressing any hazards or unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Developing and overseeing emergency response plans and energy efficiency programs.
  • Coordinating refurbishment and renovation projects, including contractor selection, supervision, and cost control.
  • Promoting a strong health and safety culture through regular inspections, training, and compliance monitoring.
